Kasper's photos. Jewels at the V & A. Tiara
Posted by Beth on February 7, 2020, 8:39 am
I know that I should recognise this tiara, but try as I might its provenance will not come to mind.
Can anyone recognise it?
reverse view. Thank you Kasper! I always enjoy seeing the reverse side of a jewel.
Initially, I didn't think that Lady Cory was wearing the tiara in the photo below but, after seeing more old photos on the V & A site, I realise it is the same tiara.

Now this diadem design is quite heavy to look at. My heart interest is truly diadems, but this one seems so pushed or smashed/pressed together. Though full of sparkle its not elegant imo.

I am sure I had highlighted Lady Cory in one of my previous posts sometime ago. I had mentioned that this lady had really portrayed real aristocracy to the height of being paired on the levels with the Romanovs where her jewels were concerned. I love her tiara and her brooches, they are very grand and looks very expensive as well. All of her jewels smack of very high sophistication and exceptional beauty and are in direct comparison to the jewels seen on the Romanovs.
Regards,
Dave.
