But I think that the pair of diamond tassel earrings looks very much like Princess Beatrice of Battenberg's diamond tassel brooches. J-F

The earrings do indeed look like Princess Beatrice's brooches. On her site Ursula has this interesting item on the brooches, which she notes were auctioned in London on 13 June 2000. Will the Sotheby's catalogue give any background information?
