Ardchduchess Isabella - the Austrian Grand Duchess Vladimir Posted by Janet on March 30, 2020, 7:42 am I have often thought of Archduchess Isabella as being the Austrian Grand Duchess Vladimir. Both had a reputation for being fierce strong women and both also had a passion for jewels. I would love to know more about her jewels, I know some of the smaller items featured in the Bourbon Parma sale a few years ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Isabella_of_Cro%C3%BF Wearing a huge diamond as a head piece Wearing her stunning periodot parure, which I believe has now sadly been broken up as various pieces have been auctioned separately in recent years. This picture is great as she is wearing the huge diamond in the previous picture as a low hanging brooch She had a fringe tiara also Wearing a box tiara which appears to have as the centrepiece a very large diamond - it is quite rare I think to have tiaras with large diamonds, so this something special.

I thought I was interested in the Peridot parure, but now my attention is focused on the large diamonds. I had never noticed them previously (possibly because I had never seen those photos before! Thanks for posting them.). Both are large diamonds, and I am sure must have caught the attention of jewellery specialists previously. But?? The large pear shaped diamond must surely be known. I confess that I have a weakness for necklaces with diamonds and pearls, so the one worn by the Archduchess has caught my attention. I hope that someone knows more. Even if no one has additional information, I am delighted to be reading posts which expand my knowledge. Thanks Janet!

Oh how I wish there were better pics of the diamond tiaras. Luckily in the recent past we did get to see high quality pics of the peridot parure. The peridots are HUGE as can be seen when Joan Rivers wore the necklace.
