QEII. Queen Mary's turquoise brooch for address to nation
Posted by Beth on April 6, 2020, 6:50 am
For the address to the nation about the coronavirus, Queen Elizabeth II choose Queen Mary's turquoise brooch which had been given to her (Queen Mary) as part of the wedding present from Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1893.
For those who may not have been reading the Royal Jewels of the World message board when I found the sketch proving this, below is the newspaper item which provided me with the crucial proof.
Re: QEII. Queen Mary's turquoise brooch for address to nation
We had a huge presumption that this brooch was from QM and given as a part of the wedding present from Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.
You found the solution !
Very best regards,
Franck

I don't know how HM does it but she always manages to dress for the occasion. her look is so simplistic yet so very outstanding and noticeable, it give me inspiration and I felt all better after seeing her TV speech. Her jewels are in a class of their own, you can't see anything that matches or really replicates her pieces, and and I also think she is in a class of her own too because the more I see other female monarchs/ queens, the more I think she is the one which stands out.
Regards,
Dave.
