Therefore, I think that This corsage must be from the vault. I also think that a photo can be found of Queen Alexandra or Queen Mary wearing this antique diamond corsage brooch. Have you got an idea ? All the photos were taken on the net : To me, it is one of the most important of mystery concerning Princess Diana's jewels (with the emerald demi-set worn in 1991 - must be a gift during the Golf tour in 1989) Franck

What an incredibly interesting find Franck! I have never seen those photos before. What a shame that the photos are so blurry! As we know that Princess Diana did wear fake jewels from time to time without a clearer image it is difficult to say if this might have been a jewel worn by Queen Mary. I don't recollect ever seeing Queen Alexandra wearing such a large bow brooch, but we really don't know sufficient about the Queen Alexandra's jewels to be sure.

Agree with others that it is most likely a costume piece. However I just cant help thinking what a wasted opportunity this was.......here is a 25 year old young lady (pic is from March 1987) wearing a stomacher with such style.....imagine seeing Queen Mary's stomachers worn like this!!!!

I think you have found the origins of the bow brooch Franck. I agree with OmerH -- it was a wasted opportunity! I can imagine Princess Diana wearing parts of Queen Mary's diamond stomacher with that gown.

We all should be a bit more reserved in making a hard and fast judgement either way.
