New Swedish "Tiara" Posted by OmerH on June 22, 2020, 4:45 am To mark their 10th wedding anniversary this past week the Royal Court has released another picture showing the lovely couple. In the following picture Crown Princess Victoria is wearing something on the side of her head. It has been identified by The Royals and I website as "Nocturnal Creatures Tiara" by Swedish designer Maria Nilsdotter. Here's the description from her site: "Drawing inspiration from the mysterious qualities of nocturnal creatures, the Nocturnal Creatures Tiara is a balance of delicate details and elegant form. Handcrafted in sterling silver with oxidized detailing, adorned with with lustrous freshwater pearls and lemon quartz." What do others think about this piece?? Given how we've seen Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Princess Mary in similar headpieces before and the headpiece Princess Charlene wore for her wedding banquet is in the same vein could this be a new way forward for the tiara? I can definitely see a lot of women of all classes wearing similar headpieces in the year to come. It will be interesting to see if ladies take up this style JR76. It certainly allows ladies to wear hair jewels in a less formal manner. In the twenty first century a tiara is considered too formal for most events which a modern young lady might attend, whereas a jewel such as that worn by Crown Princess Victoria allows a lady to have some fun without being ostentatious or overly formal.
