From the collection of Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia (1786-1859), grandaughter of Catherine the Great and wife of the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimer-Eisenach.
Oak Leaves Bandeau Diadem of Maria Pavlovna GrandDuchess of Russia - it was part her famous dowry, and the original massive piece of jewelry had eighteen emerald acorns and twenty-six different sized oak leaves. Most of the trousseau was made by Duval in St. Petersburg for the Grand Duchess.

Thank you for sharing your analysis and photos of the Weimar collection, it really was quite remarkable and beautiful!
Do you know if the family has anything left or is it all gone?

There are no information about which pieces are still in the family.
But: After the reunification of Germany, the Grand Ducal House of Saxony-Weimar and Eisenach applied for the retransfer of its mobile and immobile assets in 1990. Within the framework of the "Entschädigungs- und Ausgleichsleistungsgesetz" (Compensation and Settlement Act), the restitution of property was excluded in principle, but at the same time the regulation came into force according to which the movable property and thus also the entire former art possessions of the Sachsen-Weimar and Eisenach family should have been returned to them by 2014. Against the background of its authorship of large parts of the Weimar art and cultural property and the resulting overall responsibility, the House of Saxony-Weimar and Eisenach decided to cede its legal claims to the Free State of Thuringia. In return, the Free State paid compensation which, against the background of the overall value of the Grand Ducal art possessions, was of a rather symbolic nature.
After that, no further pieces of jewelry were offered in auction houses.
