Countess of Southesk wears Fife Fringe Tiara Posted by The Royal Watcher on September 6, 2020, 3:54 pm The Earl of Southesk, the eldest son and Heir of the Duke and Duchess of Fife, married Camille Ascoli today, and a follower of mine reported that she wore the Fife Fringe Tiara, which was off display at Kensington Palace yesterday, with a note left explaining that it was to be worn 'as per family tradition'. Sadly we have not gotten any pictures of the wedding yet, but I'm really excited to see the Tiara being worn!

I wonder does the note imply that the Fringe tiara is also owned by the state? I wonder if this is going to be the norm we should expect in the future from other noble families that own magnificent jewelry.. It is certainly a better option than have them going to the auction block and never be seen again!

I wonder how many other brides in the family have worn the fringe as a wedding tiara? (I have to admit, I have not even tried to research that aspect) The only one I know who wore a fringe tiara for her wedding is Caroline Dewar. At least that comment seems to solve the query of which fringe she wore. (The current Duchess wore the the much grander tiara given to Princess Louise, Duchess of Fife by her husband -- that is the one which was accepted by the UK government in lieu of inheritance tax in recent years.) I hope that some photos are released so that we can all see a modern image of the tiara being worn.
