Wedding of Prince Frederick Alexander von Preussen and the Hon. Antalya Nall-Cain Posted by The Royal Watcher on October 3, 2020, 7:04 pm Prince Frederick Alexander von Preussen, son of Prince Andreas von Preussen, married the Hon. Antalya Nall-Cain, daughter of the 3rd Baron Brocket, over the weekend, HERE. Prince Frederick Alexander is a grandson of Prince Frederick of Prussia and Lady Brigid Guinness, a great-great-grandson of Kaiser Wilhelm II and a great-great-great-great-grandson of Queen Victoria. The new Princess Antalya wore a Tiara which does not appear to be the Von Preussen Tiara, HERE, worn by his sister and cousins, so I would think that it is an heirloom from the Brocket family.

Antalya Nall-Cain" Congratulations JR76 and Tiara Mania for identifying the Brocket family tiara. I am not sure if the tiara originated with Angela, Lady Brocket (wife of the second baron) or with her mother-in-law, Dame Florence Nall Cain, who died before her husband was given his title of Baron Brocket. Florence died in late 1927; Angela married in 1928. I have not seen any images of Florence wearing a tiara. Ronald, the second baron, succeeded to the title in November 1934. The earliest photo I have seen of Angela wearing the tiara is the one Tiara Mania posted. It is dated 27 April 1936. The next photo I saw was taken at the State Opening of Parliament in November 1936. As I suspected the tiara is a composite, and Angela, Lady Brocket wore the lower section as a bandeau on occasions. This comparison photo allows us to see that the bandeau is the bottom section of the tiara. The current bride isn't the first of the Nall Cain ladies to wear the tiara as a bridal jewel: it was worn by Angela's daughter at her wedding in 1958.

A second Brocket tiara?? Posted by Beth on October 4, 2020, 7:19 pm, in reply to "The Brocket tiara" In 1936 Angela, Lady Brocket was photographed at Covent Garden with her friend, Lady Mary Manningham Buller (later Lady Dilhorne). I think that Lady Mary Manningham Buller was wearing the same tiara which Angela, Lady Brocket was photographed wearing in 1935. I don't know which lady owned the tiara, as I couldn't find any images of either wearing it again. My suspicion would be that it belonged to Angela, Lady Brocket. Her husband was very wealthy, and it is highly likely that she would have had 2 tiaras; whereas, Lady Mary's husband was not as well to do. But I don't have any concrete evidence.

Clarifying who wore the Brocket tiara as a wedding tiara Posted by Beth on October 7, 2020, 4:02 pm, in reply to "A second Brocket tiara?? " Since the recent wedding of the Hon Antalya Nall Cain when she wore the Brocket tiara, a number of sites are asserting that the tiara was also worn by her grandmother and aunt for their weddings. Who has copied from whom is difficult to determine. Hopefully some clarification will ensure that some sloppy research will be rectified before this assertion becomes entrenched. The grandmother of Antalya Nall Cain was Elizabeth Mary Stallard, who married Ronald Charles Manus Nall Cain in December 1950. Ronald predeceased his father, the 2nd Baron. Below is a photo of their wedding day. The bride is definitely not wearing the Brocket tiara. Detail The Hon Antalya's great grandmother, whom we have seen wearing the Brocket tiara, didn't wear it for her wedding day either. Below is a photo of Angela Pennyman at her wedding in November 1927. The only other Nall Cain lady I have found an image of wearing the tiara on her wedding day was the Hon Elizabeth Nall Cain, daughter of the 2nd Baron -- which makes her a great aunt, not an aunt of the Hon Antalya Nall Cain. If any one can show me that I am wrong, I will happily acknowledge any mistake/s.
