Margaret of Argyll/ Margaret Campbell Posted by Dave on October 31, 2020, 5:08 pm I came across an old Vouge article on the subject matter and when I looked her up, there is a very grand lady who had particularly exquisite tastes' in jewels and the way in how she wore them. She has courted controversy and at times scandal, but her jewels needs to be spoken of. I have seen pictures of her in nice looking emeralds and diamonds, especially a large diamond ring, but cant seem to post any at this time. Regards, Dave.

Some of the more spectacular jewels Margaret, Duchess of Argyll was photographed wearing were not her own jewels. All the jewels worn by the society ladies who modelled them were in fact owned by the leading jewellery houses. Apologies. I cannot post images at present.

The Tiara, Diamond Earrings and her famous 3-strand Pearl Necklace were all personal property, and usually worn together for many occasions in the 1950s and 1960s before they were stolen, with the exception of the Pearl Necklace, from her house in London sometime in the mid-1960s I was given a beautiful book at the Cartier store in Tokyo Airport last year which has the lovely portrait of the Duchess in the yellow gown, so I suspect the Tiara may be a Cartier piece. She was also photographed in another set of jewels in the 1930s, which I suspect were borrowed.
