OT: Has anyone noticed Pinterest has changed? Posted by Janet on July 3, 2021, 10:39 pm, in reply to "Lady Elmley's tiara" I used to love it and followed some amazing accounts but in recent days they have removed my follower tab and now all I have is my home tab, which does have bits and pieces from those I follow but is mostly also recommendations of other accounts I don't follow - sadly most fake American beauty queen tiaras for sale. So frustrating.

I still get the same exact service I normally get but I gather the service may be different for different regions. All I know is that it gives you pictures one would not normally get with a Google search. I'd love to know the provenance of the tiara and a little about the lady wearing it. Re: Lady Elmley's tiara Posted by Beth on July 6, 2021, 8:10 pm, in reply to "Lady Elmley's tiara" I believe that the photo was taken in 1937 when Lady Elmley was presented at Court as the wife of the heir (Viscount Elmley) to Earl Beauchamp In 1938 her husband succeeded to the earldom and she became known as Lady Beauchamp. Later she was seen wearing a different tiara. The Earls Beauchamp (family name Lygon) were wealthy, and the various Countesses wore some major jewels. The title became extinct in 1980 but female members of the family remain. Is the tiara worn by Lady Elmley in 1937 still extant? I don't know. It is possible. It is also possible that it was dismantled to make new jewels, or inherited by other members of the family. There is a relatively good amount of information on the family on the net.
