Londonderry, Corrigan emerald bracelet. Edited to fix date typo Posted by Beth on August 4, 2021, 7:09 am The interest of jewellery lovers was piqued in 2018 when Sotheby's auctioned an impressive emerald bracelet which had been given to Edith, Marchioness of Londonderry by Laura Corrigan. To refresh our memories below is Sotheby's photo of the bracelet. https://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2018/magnificent-jewels-and-noble-jewels-ge1802/lot.320.html?locale=en Charles Villiers has very generously forwarded a couple of photos of the jewel being worn by Edith, Marchioness of Londonderry and her daughter, Lady Mari Bury. In addition Charles has supplied some previously unknown information. As we know, Edith, Marchioness of Londonderry wore the bracelet to the Opening of Parliament in 1948. [This is where I had an incorrect date. Now corrected.] Copyright Charles Villiers The Marchioness was also photographed wearing the bracelet at a charity function in 1954.
