The Swedish scarab necklace Posted by Janet on August 8, 2021, 9:25 am Once owned by Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden and now worn by her descendants is one of my favourite pieces of 'modern' style revival jewellery. I was quite fascinated and pleased to see a similar styled version available for purchase in the United States. As Europe was Egypt crazy at the time, it isn't that surprising that similar style necklaces exist, however while Ursula's page suggests Margaret's version was made by Koch, the similar version being sold in the United States is made by Moritz Keller & Company and dates from 1906, so the year after Margaret married the future Swedish King. You know their is a saying that goes like this, "clothes don't make you look good but the person is really who makes the clothes look good". Well this saying can be applied to PL and this necklace. While I have not seen it worn by any other person, I get the feeling no one else will wear it with as much ease as PL. Regards, Dave.
