Two Tiara Events Last Week!
Posted by Kongetro on May 23, 2022, 11:19 pm
Yes, you read correctly. Even though many of us (I suspect) had hoped for a tiara in Madrid for the State Banquet hosted in honour of the Emir of Qatar, Queen Letizia did not to wear one. But there was in fact a third Royal event taking place on that very same day and this one WAS a tiara event
Should you wish to know more you can read a little bit more about it on my blog:
Thanks for alerting us to the investiture in Perlis! Just when I think I'm on top of the Malay tiara events one slips past me. Tuanku Fauziah's tiara really reminds me of the Countess of Moy's Diamond Heart Tiara made by Cartier in 1909. It's exhibited from time to time and as of 2013 it belonged to the Qatar Museum Authority but they do change out their inventory so it's possible they sold it. It's also possible it was just inspired by the Moy tiara and it wouldn't be the first time a Malay royal has had a replica made of other royal jewelry. I wish the photos were of better quality because it's really impossible to tell from the pictures.
Re: Two Tiara Events Last Week! - Tiara Worn by the Raja Perempuan of Perlis
The tiara worn by the Raja Perempuan actually looks a lot like Countess of Moy's tiara when put side by side like you've done. Thanks for that
I thought it was perhaps some Eastern styled elements when I first saw the tiara worn, but after having seen the images of the Moy tiara you posted I have no doubt that I was wrong in that assumption Kongetro
