Queen Camilla's Crown Posted by Crowne on May 6, 2023, 11:47 pm I knew I wouldn't like the removal of 4 of the half arches, the crown was designed for 8 and so they were thin and delicate. Removing half of them leaves the crown looking empty! Keeping all the arches or using Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's crown and replacing the Koh-i-Noor diamond with a Cullinan diamond were always the better options! Here are some photos showing the Cullinan V brooch and the Cullinan III & IV diamonds.

The monde seems higher and I can see two, layers of scrolls beneath the globe. Maybe the monde needs all the arches or it won’t hold together so they added a new bit so it wouldn’t collapse.

You spotted something significant which no one else did! I think your explanation for why there are 2 layers of scrolls is correct. The 2 levels of scrolls is an elegant solution. So that no one else gets a chance to broadcast your find/observation as their insight, I have done a post on Instagram, clearly acknowledging that it was your find. Will it remain with four arches and the cullinans in place or will the add the other 4 arches again and remove the Cullinans and replace them with the Crystals. What a wonderfully special and moving day... Posted by Janet on May 8, 2023, 5:54 am, in reply to "Queen Camilla's Crown" As someone without religious faith there were some elements which I didn't connect with on an emotional level but their Majesties were so dignified and I thought the Coronation ceremony itself was a good mix of ancient and modern.
