Has the Coronation necklace been shortened & rhodium plated? Posted by Beth on May 7, 2023, 7:16 pm I am intrigued by how the Coronation necklace looked during the coronation, during the carriage procession etc. I have never seen the metal setting look so brilliantly white before. So I wondered if it has been rhodium plated. I also think that Queen Camilla has had the necklace shortened by at least 2 if not 4 collets, What does everyone else think?

" The late queen liked shorter necklaces so had a few shortened including the Greville Ruby Necklace. Perhaps if she had a smaller neck and Camilla is thicker, it will look different. We won’t really know until Camilla has been seen wearing several necklaces so we can compare overall

" I tried to count the number of the collets which can be seen and it looked the same number on the late Queen as yesterday. " Yes Stefan - I had done the same and I too do not think that it has been shortened. What I did wonder was if the Lahore Diamond drop had been swapped out for something else. I do not think the Lahore is as contested as the Kho-i-noor, but I would not have been surprised if it was not used. However, from comparisons I have looked at subsequently, I do not think it was chnaged.
