Tiara Guesses for Prince Christian's 18th Birthday
Posted by The Royal Watcher on October 14, 2023, 4:23 am They’ll announce the full guest list on Sunday, but these are my Tiara predictions for Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th Birthday Gala, with the Royals already confirmed and some more I think we might see: I think Queen Margrethe will be wearing the Floral Aigrette Tiara and the Crown Diamond Parure, since that is the same combination worn to Crown Prince Frederik’s 18th Birthday Gala. The Aigrette Tiara has not been worn at all this year, in contrast to the Pearl Poiré Tiara, which makes me think she might be saving it for this special occasion. We will probably see her Diamond Daisy Brooch worn, possibly for the Balcony Appearance though I would love to see it worn on her sash for the gala in the evening with the coordinating earrings. Crown Princess Mary should be wearing the Danish Ruby Parure since she has only worn it once this year and it would be perfect for the occasion (I still feel disappointed she did not wear the Ruby Parure for Crown Prince Frederik’s 50th Birthday). I do really hope to see the full necklace, which has only been worn three times since redesign in 2010. If not, I would like her to wear either her Wedding Tiara for Diamond Necklace Tiara as a necklace with the other as a Tiara, to create a more splendid look. Also, she will probably be wearing the Connaught Sapphire Brooch for the Balcony Appearance. Princess Marie will probably be wearing Princess Dagmar’s Diamond Floral Tiara though I would not mind an appearance of her Flora Danica Tiara. I also think we will see Countess Alexandra attend, no doubt wearing the Alexandrine Drop Tiara. The Greek Royal Family provide the biggest jewellery mystery because we will now see if their most important jewels have been passed on by Queen Anne-Marie. I would ideally like to see her in the Greek Emerald Parure or the Greek Ruby Parure but would also love to see either of those worn by Crown Princess Marie Chantal and Queen Anne Marie in the other parure or wearing the Khedive of Egypt Tiara again. If there have been no changes, we will wee Queen Anne Marie in the Emerald Parure, Marie-Chantal in Queen Sophie’s Diamond Tiara, and Olympia wearing the Miller Fringe Tiara. I would expect to see more Greeks, in which case, the Antique Corsage Tiara and Princess Alexia’s Diamond Tiara will no doubt be utilized. Princess Benedikte will probably be wearing the Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Fringe Tiara but I would like that to be worn by Princess Carina and for Princess Benedikte to instead wear Queen Sofia’s Pearl and Star Tiara. Crown Princess Victoria has just worn the Baden Fringe Tiara so I suspect she will be wearing the Laurel Wreath Tiara again though I would like to wear a big necklace, like the Pink Topaz Parure, with it. Alternatively, I would love if she wore the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara, which not only has a link with the Danish Royal Family but would also go well with the Order of the Elephant. We could hope (in vain) for something new on Crown Princess Mette-Marit but it will probably be the Diamond Daisy Bandeau or the Norwegian Amethyst Tiara again. Princess Ingrid-Alexandra will no doubt be wearing Princess Ingeborg’s Boucheron Pearl Circle Tiara, with the Danish Order of the Elephant, which she received last year. I would like to see some other heirloom jewels, maybe Crown Princess Märtha’s Pearl Earrings? The Duchess of Brabant will likely wear her Vestey Tiara but it would be great if she wore the Wolfers Necklace Tiara or Queen Elisabeth’s Diamond Bandeau, hopefully with the Diamond Necklace she received with from the Belgian Nobility. The Princess of Orange has just confirmed her attendance, and I am personally hoping to see her wear Queen Emma’s Diamond Tiara.
