New Information About Princess Aminah of Johor's Wedding Tiara
Posted by Tiara Mania on February 1, 2024, 2:11 am
I was searching for something else last week and stumbled on the jeweler who made the yellow diamond tiara worn by Tunku Tun Aminah of Johor for her wedding in August 2017.
The tiara was made by Royal Insignia, a Singapore based jeweler specializing in medals and decorations. Their website doesn't say that it was made for Aminah but it's clearly the same tiara. They also posted a photo of the wedding on Instagram with the caption, "We were honoured indeed to have been invited to the royal wedding of Tunku Tun Aminah. It was a pleasure to view the pieces we have painstakingly crafted over the past few months on display."
From the description, "The focal point of this stunning diamond tiara is a cushion cut yellow diamond. The exquisite yellow stone was supplied by the customer who had requested for the tiara to be designed around the rare coloured diamond. Designed in a timeless, classical style, the tiara is crafted in white gold and set with a shower of near flawless white pear, marquise, and emerald cut white diamonds."
And some pictures of the wedding from the Johor royal family's FB page. Aminah also wore diamond earrings, a three tiered diamond necklace with a yellow diamond pendant, and two large cuff bracelets with yellow diamonds. I don't know which pieces if any were also made by Royal Insignia.
This was good timing since her father, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar of Johor, was sworn in as the new Yang di-Pertuan Agong aka King of Malaysia today.
I can't decide if the bracelets are the same ones worn by Raja Zarith Sofiah for her husband's coronation in 2015 with the sapphires replaced by yellow diamonds. When I look at the picture on the left I think they are different but when I look at the picture on the right I think they are the same.
The sapphire bracelets are part of the crown jewels of Johor so I would imagine that the the sapphires were only replaced temporarily if they are the same.

Without being 100% certain the bracelets do seem to be identical only with the replacement of the Sapphires with the yellow Diamonds.

Thank you very much for the information on this new Johor tiara! Very interesting. Hopefully we will get to see more of it, at least later this year when the new King is being installed
