Queen Elizabeth II 400th Anniversary of the Armada Brooch

Posted by Crowne User icon on May 4, 2024, 5:55 pm

Joye over on the Royal Jewels of the World Message Board mentioned this brooch that I hadn't heard of before. I found an interesting article on it with phots, and as I can't post on that site I'll post it here:

I'm amazed that I haven't seen the pictures of QEII wearing it before. I quite like the brooch, the ship is charming, but I think I would have preferred it without the two dolphins and the chains. It's a shame it doesn't appear to have been worn again.

Edit. Congratulations & thanks to Crowne for finding the images & background details to this brooch which Joye mentioned.

Congratulations to Joey!! What a wonderful find!

And thanks for posting here about Joey's find Crowne.

Apologies to Crowne Re: Queen Elizabeth II 400th Anniversary of the Armada Brooch

Sincere apologies Crowne.

When I read Joye's item on the RJWMB, I realised that, while Joye alluded to the brooch, you were the one who did the research to find the images & information.

Congratulations!!
