Queen Mary's lost Diamond Lozenge Bandeau is with the Queen of Pahang
Posted by The Royal Watcher This week, I am in the Sultanate of Pahang to celebrate the Wedding of Prince Muhammad of Pahang, Tengku Arif Bendahara, the son of the Sultan of Pahang and Tengku Ampuan (Queen) Azizah, and have a very exciting discovery to share with you! Queen Azizah of Pahang and I have come upon the conclusion that her Diamond Bandeau Tiara is Queen Mary's lost Diamond Lozenge Bandeau last worn by Princess Margaret. Her Majesty graciously invited me to the Palace to view the Tiara (and five others) and we both compared it and could find no differences. Queen Azizah bought this Diamond Bandeau Tiara on the advice of Princess Chulabhorn of Thailand in New York. Like Queen Mary’s Amethyst Tiara, the Diamond Lozenge Bandeau must have been discreetly sold off by Princess Margaret by the 1980s. In our excitement, the Tiara did drop and get slightly damaged but will soon be repaired.

Queen of Pahang Tiaras
Posted by The Royal Watcher The jewels are all personally owned by Queen Azizah, and with the exception of the inherited Pahang State Tiara, have been acquired by her. There are around 10 tiaras from different periods, including at least three created this year, and the Queen has said that all of them will be inherited by the Crown Prince, but can be loaned out like she has done to distant cousins and friends. She has given other gifts of jewellery to her daughters and daughters-in-law, but they would only wear Tiaras at their weddings and possibly the Coronation of an immediate relative, so they have no need of their own Tiaras. The Beauchamp Pearl and Diamond Tiara and her Diamond Tiara are the former Sultanah’s personal property, and like her other jewels, will be inherited by her only son.
