If Mateo places a candle on a plastic table, would that make Crocodile Bar and Cabanas a high-end restaurant?
OUR “FINAL” SEASON
Mateo and friends have enjoyed an amazing run since starting Crocodile Bar and Cabanas on September 1, 2018. What had previously been the site of a successful sunset beach bar has since been expanded to include a cafe, massage, hotel and a restaurant with expanded times, dates and menu options. Thanks to the late Adan Brambila and family for giving us the opportunity for a wonderful six years. Alas, the lease will expire this year and Mateo will keep everyone up to date on his next project in La Manzanilla. Mateo hopes you may enjoy the best fish tacos–and margaritas–on the southernmost point of the beach in La Manzanilla for the next few months.
SAFETY ALERT
Before he moved to a little fishing village in La Manzanilla, Mateo, earned degrees in journalism and political science. A former journalist who has always considered himself a proponent of transparency and restaurant workers, Mateo tried his best to inform the masses–er, the folks who read the old board. You can read about it below.

With a new year and the new message board, Mateo wishes to report [redacted] and he would also like everyone to know at the restaurant [redacted] and really is glad consider the actions of [redacted] and no injuries have taken place from [readcated] involving the chalkboard menu.
NFL GAMES
Feel free to come watch the NFL playoff games Saturday, Jan. 20, and please be mindful of the following: the TV sound will be off during the live music. Also, please be respectful of the folks in the surrounding hotel rooms. Yes, enjoy the games, but realize because of the severe effects from climate change, the New Orleans Saints chose not to participate in the postseason this year. Games on Sunday, Jan. 20, would only be shown at the discretion of “Bar Calcetin.”
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Mateo turns 55 next month. Though he’s not narcissistic enough–c’mon, he writes about himself in the second person–to conduct a full-month celebration, he hopes you join him at Crocodile Bar and Cabanas for a five-day celebration starting Feb. 6 and ending Feb. 10.
Menu options will be posted next week, but we hope you join us on Wednesday, Feb. 14, for our special. Eduardo sings romantic ballads every Wednesday at Crocodile Bar and Cabanas. If you only hear him perform once this season, let’s hope it will be Feb. 14.

HOW TO MAKE A RESERVATION
*Send Mateo a text using WhatsApp
*Call Mateo. His phone seems to work these days
*Stop by the bar–during bar hours, a novel concept–and ask for Mateo, Cristal or Belen
*Figure out–in morse code–the redacted portions of the “Safety Alert” above and post them on the internet
* Call Bill Gates and ask him why he has yet to remove the Oxxo sign
* Call Oxxo and demand they return all the water to the Four Seasons
* Without using any heavy machinery, throw all the rocks on the beach at the house of Bill Gates
* Try to comprehend why the “local” government for La Manzanilla is in mountain town an hour away from here
