My name is Zyanya, which means “eternally” in Zapotec. My name is a gift from my father.
My father is a painter and art has always been part of my life. I began painting as a very young
child.
Art has been my passion, but I was slow to embrace the idea of being a professional artist.
This last year and a half I have been painting every day, and I’m developing my own style.
Working on my craft and being consistent has led me here, my first exhibition in Mexico. I was
fortunate to have a show in Austin, TX which helped build my confidence but a show in my
home country is something very special.
Currently I’ve been working with acrylic and my most of my subjects are iconic Mexican animals,
roosters and donkeys.
I fall more in love with the medium with every painting I make!
