Volunteers from all over the world are signing up through WorkAway to come help at our local animal rescue, Peluditos! We currently have a very cool couple from France, Lea and Florent, that came to help for the month of November. They are enjoying it so much, they have decided to stay into December! Next month we have three volunteers coming from Australia, and two more coming from Germany in March. They volunteer 25 hours per week in exchange for housing here. In addition to caring directly for the animals, they have helped Laura with some larger projects like fixing fencing. We have even larger projects brewing for December when there are more volunteers here.

Part of the program is the opportunity for them to immerse in the community, so thank you to all who have reached out to include them in activities here. If you would like to invite them to join you for swimming, hiking, music, dining or whatever you may be doing, please let us know. Yesterday we went to release baby turtles at Playa Coco. So cool.

We have more requests from volunteers wanting to come help with the animals at Peluditos, but are in need of housing for them. A young woman from Switzerland would like to come for three weeks in January. If you have housing available that you would like to donate the use of to volunteers for Peluditos, please let us know. Volunteers need their own room/bungalow with bathroom. They need access to cooking facilities since they are responsible for their own meals. If you have space and would like to host some very interesting people, I would love to talk with you!
