My partner is immunosuppressed from medications he takes. He contracted dengue here and was very ill for about 2 weeks. He survived and is recovering now, but it is serious. It was the sickest he has ever been in his life.

Also, for those who are taking immunocompromising medications, you have to stop those meds as soon as you realize you have dengue and not restart until your doctor gives the okay (typically based on lab results). So count on 3 or 4 weeks without your regular medication.
