If you are driving north (or south in the fall) and you’re planning to spend some time traveling or camping in the US, be aware that the immigration law is being strictly enforced. Although you can still be allowed to stay in the US for 180 days, if your stay is over 30 days, you must separately register with the US government and keep your immigration papers with you at all times. Not much different than Mexico as you could be asked here at anytime to prove your right to be here.
