Sea Lice/jelly fish

Hello…thought I would as the group if this is a known issue in the area? I have been swimming every day in the bay for the last month. Yesterday shortly after entering the water I started feeling what I can only describe as the sting of walking thru stinging nettles. I swam away from the area and was okay. When I swam to shore in the same area around 45 minutes later I started feeling the stinging again all over. I could not see anything in the water and no visible bites on my body and went on with my day. Last night I woke up to crazy itching all over and I am covered with bites. I googled the symptoms of my experience in the water and it hit immediately on sea lice with the delayed eruption of bites. Is this common for the area?! I guess sunscreen is supposed to help keep them at bay but I didn’t have any on. 🥴
