By now, you’ve heard about the vandalism of the ambulance. After the vandals poured sugar in the gas tank, the team took the ambulance to Melaque for repairs and it’s back on the road again. To prevent any such vandalism in the future, we wanted to put up security cameras. Through the generosity of Bungalows Ayessa, we have two security cameras on the way from Mercado Libre. Additionally, we want to thank Beth and Murray for their cash donation that allowed us to order the other parts needed to make the security system work. We all know that making a donation to the ambulance from out of Mexico can be difficult, but Murray figured it out, and with the help of Ceci, we were able to receive the donation. Thank you, Ceci, for all your leg work! Additionally, we want to thank Ben Trexler of TRex Services. Ben provides technical support for the community, and he has volunteered to install the cameras. Ben has also researched the best equipment for our needs and ordered everything necessary. I always say it takes a village to run an ambulance service like ours. I was terribly disheartened when I found out about the damage that had been done, especially since our ambulance service has done nothing but help the community. Because of the kindness and generosity these people have displayed, my faith in the support of the community has been restored. Once again, our deepest thanks goes out to Bungalows Ayessa, Beth and Murray Rees, Ben Trexler of TRex Services, and to Ceci. We so appreciate your help! Now we can continue to save lives!
