In the sixties and seventies, we could also be secretaries, but I learned typing and shorthand at the age of 15 in the hope of becoming a journalist. Now I find it ironic that those are the two most useful skills I ever learned. I use them virtually every day, even though I was never a secretary (or a nurse or a teacher). Onward!
