My name is June. I originally started the site around 2007 after planning a trip here and realizing there wasn’t much information about La Manzanilla available online. I ran the site until 2018, but when I was no longer living here full-time, it became too difficult to keep promoting and managing it.
For a while, I’ve wanted to pass it along to someone who lives here full-time and could continue to grow it. I put out feelers, but running a website requires a certain set of technical skills, and no one was quite ready to take it on.
Earlier this year, Laura Lynch approached me about taking it over—and that’s where we are now! I’ll remain involved for about a year to provide technical and marketing support. By the end of the year, Laura will officially be the owner of VisitLaManzanilla.com.
Her goal is to grow the business and use some of the proceeds to help support Peluditos in whatever form the organization takes going forward.
So here’s the pitch:
Why advertise your business VisitLaManzanilla.com?
After hosting several groups of guests, I’m constantly asked questions like:
When are restaurants open? What are the phone numbers for local businesses? Do they take credit cards? Is there a pharmacy in town? Can I rent a SUP?
The questions go on and on. There’s real value in having this kind of information in one easy-to-find place rather than expecting visitors to search through Facebook posts.
Businesses can advertise for only $1,000 pesos per year.

Why list your vacation rental?
Tired of Airbnb fees? Want to speak directly with potential renters? Prefer to handle payments yourself and pay a simple yearly fee instead of commissions?
We’ve got you covered.
Vacation rental listings are $175 USD, or equivalent in pesos, per year and include a description, photos, map, contact form, and an optional calendar.

We’ll be marketing and promoting the site through our social media channels, email updates, and various events throughout the year. We’re just launching the new version now, so please share it with visitors! If there’s additional information you’d like to see on the site, reach out and let us know.
Why isn’t it free?
That’s a question I hear often. Running a website comes with real costs—from hosting and security to constant maintenance and updates. Websites are also regularly targeted by bots and bad actors trying to take them down. Beyond that, it takes ongoing work to maintain listings, promote the site, and manage advertising.
My dream has always been to create a comprehensive and helpful online resource for La Manzanilla. I’m excited to help Laura build a sustainable business that allows her, her son, and her passion for helping animals in need to thrive.
