The mechanic Orlando

Has anybody used Orlando, on the main road leading into town, Lazaro Cardenas, as a mechanic? I need to have two new cam and crank sensors plus a battery installed in my car and am wondering how reliable he is. My mechanic back home says this is not a big job, once the sensors have been ordered and are in. I don’t have an issue with the quote, just want to know if my car will sit there for days……..would appreciate any response. Mil gracias!

As long as you have the correct parts in hand, there shouldn’t be a delay. I would recommend you agree on a day for the work to be done, then drop the vehicle off that morning. They do good work and their rates are very reasonable.SpencerC/Moderator
Thank you so much, Spencer. Orlando has to order the parts and I would give him an advance for that. I got a bit spooked today when someone said that even tho you make an appointment and agree on the time it will take, that is never what happens and it takes much more time than planned as they always get distracted with other ‘things’. I’m well aware of how things generally work in Mexico, tomorrow doesn’t always mean tomorrow, but I also have first hand knowledge, my dealership back home, of how long a job like mine would take. As I have a number of upcoming things that I need my car for, and usually go to Cowboys, I wanted to get a feel for Orlando and perhaps keep the money local. Cowboys have never let me down in any way., but they are busy. I do appreciate any feedback so once again, muchas gracias!
Morning! Orlando’s old shop was near my house, so due to convenience I used him for problems on my old Ford Explorer, big and small! He helped me find my newer car which was owned by Cowboys father! A real treasure and has done all the minor work needed over the past three years at his new location! Yes, you need to pay for parts in advance and sometimes he is backed up by other cars or trucks ahead of your needed work but I am great full he is here even if it takes an extra day!
Orlando has been taking care of my vehicles for many years. He's honest and reliable. The reason there may be delays is because he is good.

I have used him for several vehicles, always found him honest and reliable, we all encounter delays in Mexico but if he has the parts on hand, there should be no delays.
He’s on the road coming into town from the highway, Lazaro Cardenas. He’s in a new white building on your right going towards the highway, about 1/2 way up. There’s a driveway on the right of the building leading into his ‘bay’ behind and batteries on display in front of his tailer (shop). His number is 315-109-0528, or Lio who works with him and speaks English, 315-100-6927.
