Lettuce share the harvest
Posted by Brandon L on February 7, 2024, 7:13 pm
This Friday, February 9th, during the Tianguis, we expect to have a kale, lettuce 🥬 and arugula at the School Garden table - set up across from the south east corner of El Jardín near Café del Mar. You may also find a little bit of basil 🌱, tomatoes 🍅, possibly camote 🍠 (sweet potatoes) and camote cake. PLEASE - bring your re-usable bag to the market for any produce you purchase. If you have a little household compost, inquire at the market about making a deposit there. They hope to have a container to collect compost at the market.
If you cannot come to the market, remember at the SCHOOL GARDEN we are accepting your donations of: * vegetable food scraps for compost. There is a “trash can” near the garden front gate into which you may dump your scraps. * flattened brown cardboard - please remove tape
Volunteers WELCOME at the gardens to view or help Hours: M-Th and Saturday 8-11am Peter is looking for volunteers to drive and pick up compost. WANT TO LEARN MORE? click on this link: School Garden Project
Brandon, your weekly updates are so good. So complete, full of gratitude for everything that's being done, and so pretty to read. Love all the little pictures. It's as if you were here. We miss you, but these updates are a great second best.
