New Spring Colors

I have had several requests to change colors (colours) on the Message Board to make them more readable. What do you think of the new light blue background with black text for most of the messages & links, dark blue for previously opened links, and purple for moderator (sticky) messages?

LOL I wasn't expecting this! I opened my message board and went - what happened?? Then I found your post.

It's easier to read - maybe red for the sticky messages?

Seems the messages I've read are bright blue and unread ones are dark - maybe that should be the other way around??

I was ok with the old colors but if you make this change I'd rather have Dark Blue in the titles for new messages and new replies and something duller (like black) for read messages.

Great improvement. I have macular degeneration. I could not see post headings at all and really struggled to read the text. Not fun! These contrasts are readable for me. Many thanks!

I find this light blue a little blinding! Much prefer the dark blue as it has been all along.

Maybe a slightly darker tone of this colour would make it less blinding.

My father used to say this one on a regular basis and now I know he was preparing me for running the message board 50 years later, LOL.

I made a couple more changes:
- Lighter blue background so it isn't so blinding
- Reversed the dark blue & black so that blue is for messages you haven't read and black is for ones you have.

I'll let that settle in for a couple days and see if it sticks. Cheers!

Wow, that is a bright Tiffany Blue or Robin's Egg Blue. I thought a setting had gone haywire somewhere, so loaded the old MB to check, then this one again. Then I saw your message partway down! I guess that happens when one doesn't log in for a few days! LOL

Yes the background is very pretty, but quite uncomfortably bright for me to look at for long! Dimming my screen doesn't really help because everything dims ... especially if photos are involved.

The original blue was much easier to look at for any length of time.. Perhaps something closer to the original version of blue would be more satisfactory for all. Yes, once you make changes it is even harder to please everyone!.

Fresh and new ⭐. I like that alreadt read messages turn black. Maybe a slightly darker light blue for background?

White is very bright on low vision eyes. A dollar colour much easier to read for anyone with vision impairment. Thank you.
