Taking suggestions on paint color for….

…all the benches in the Jardin! Think that might be the next project for Otra Vez money and it sure needs repairing and a facelift! Kind of embarrassing if you ask me!

Once the repairs are done by the others there is a group of us who want to paint…so what color or should two colors be used?

This has been posted to both the volunteers at both stores and on lm life!

Your suggestions please….

Sorry thought this was info board colour. For stores something bright and Mexican.

I like the blue that Mazurka and her crew used. Maybe share it, and give some continuity through the village?

Sounds like a good project to tackle, Stephanie. But I'm curious... are the locals also getting a say in the color decisions for their benches? And I assume this project has the blessing of the ejido or whoever would be in charge of the jardín... sí?

Pablo, yes, of course! I posted on both boards just to get an idea then was happy to hear from the Regadora that there would be help from La Huerta perhaps in fixing the bad benches and covering the paint costs! But all is in hold til the beach Jardin is finished to tie it altogether!

I love feedback on projects we propose from OV but am not that brazen to just pick the color myself…too many critics here…haha!

One hears things through the grapevine that may be true, false or exaggerated - a clarification will be appreciated ! Numbers, including myself have heard that Helping Hands and Otra Vez have decided to allocate 50,000 p to a private entity to buy a sound system. I thought the whole raison d’être for these two charity stores was to spend earnings on collective benefits for the whole community or at least on individuals who need support in paying for medical costs and basic needs?

Yes you heard this right! I brought it up at the last meeting/luncheon amongst volunteers as it was not a decision I wanted to make by myself and it was almost unanimous that this was okay or not!

As one of our large projects was sort of Pooh Pooh Ed by the Ejido, a parking lot, and the other is put on hold due to an illness of the major player, we found we had a bit excess money to spend! Both schools received amounts from us to repair serious problems and this is all money from Otra Vez..that serves the community!

The bookstore continues to serve both medical and educational needs here and the accounts are separate!

And it looks like the loan, or micro loan to help them, and is to be paid back next season will be less than the original amount needed!

Some may think that white is too bright, however, the lighter the color of the benches the cooler they will stay due to more solar reflection and less absorption. There are very nice benches on the renovated Malecon in Melaque that are too hot to sit on as an example of what not to do.

Who is receiving the 50,000 p for a sound system?

It might be needed for emergencies during these next months, when the stores are bringing in less money.
