An Iguana swimming in the ocean. From google we learned that they are good swimmers and can stay under for up to 4 hours at a time. But this poor fellow could not seem to get to shore. Each time a wave brought him closer, the undertow brought him back out. Quite the drama.
I read this… A green iguana can remain underwater for up to four hours before needing to take another breath. However, this requires the water to be at the perfect temperature that is warm enough not to shut down their cold-blooded bodies while being cool enough to slow their metabolism and breathing. Doubt our water is warm enough for them to be underwater for more than 30 minutes.
