Assistance for Daniel
Posted by CruzioG on April 22, 2024, 11:14 am
Hola, People. Daniel is a paraplegic in need of help. He lost his caretaker mom to Covid in 2021. Now he has lost financial support from La Huerta and from his US brother who helped with his college expenses.
Daniel's small office supply store, that is somewhat off the beaten path, can provide him with food and sometimes other needs. But now he is in need of two sets of wheel bearings for his wheel chair, each costing 386 pesos, and help with his college expenses.
Daniel hopes to complete a degree that will help him gain employment with Four Seasons and independence as a disabled citizen.
Please, please let me know if you can help as I am leaving for the States this week, 315 108 9280 or Cruzio13@gmail.com. TIA, , Cruz
PS: Daniel could also use help getting pneumatic tires, 968 pesos, which would greatly ease and help his mobility in getting around town when he shops for food, etc., but wheel bearings are the priority now.
Spence, could you tell me how I can load a picture of Daniel in his wheelchair? I can't remember how to do it, memory you know.

Hi Cruz, there’s an “upload image” button at the bottom of the box where you type the message. Or you can email it to me at LaManzMod@gmail.com and I’ll get it added. SpencerC/Moderator
Cruz..we still have 1,500 pesos we raised the last time Danial needed some support but he did not want the cash! We will add another 1,500 bringing the total to 3,000 and I will drop it off to him at his house! Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Hola, People again. Gracias for your timely responses. It looks like Daniel's needs have been covered, including wheel bearings, pneumatic tires, and educational expenses.
I need to get ahold of him to give him the great news. He was worried because he had just gotten the unexpected news about La Huerta financial program ending for him.
It takes a village and thank you to Stephanie and crew for continuing their much needed community effort and support.
Again, thank you to all responders. I can have a peaceful getaway now, lol, Cruz
Hola, Marcia. Daniel's office supply store is up behind the primary school on the northeast corner. His sister's hair salon/barber shop is connected and right before it. He offers to make copies.
Generally, the little store has 11:30 to 7:30 pm open hours. Daniel is independent and runs the store and his life by himself as much as possible. He cooks and runs his laundry, which is laudable. He loves lentils and instant coffee.
It's on the SE corner of Playa Dorada and Punta Tiopia (sp), across the street from the primaria. His mother, Soccoro, used to do sewing work from their home there.
