Fires here and everywhere it seems!

Was overjoyed late yesterday to have the bomberos out of La Huerta come to the mountain behind me and put out both fires! These guys are trained in rugged terrain fires and they worked arduously for over two hours in two hot spots! They are paid by the Federal government!
To those couple of you who persistently question about our newly formed volunteer group here…again, they are not going to work on mountain fires! Again, not trained in rugged terrain work! So you can stop asking that question ..okay? They will be on hand eventually to help in neighborhood fires and less strenuous fires! These are local guys who have jobs that are volunteering not paid professionals!
Should you see a mountain fire call either of these numbers to report it right away as it takes sometimes more than a couple of hours to respond especially now that the whole area seems to be on fire!
Commandants Aaron….331-136-1666 Protection Civil San Patricio 315-100-0146 Estado Protection 315-355-6375…this is the one that responded
Hope this helps us all stay safe and protect our area!
Total fire suppression has medium and long-term downsides in the form of catastrophic fires that cannot be contained and burn so hot that fires destroy vegetation absolutely.
Witness the abject failure of decades of fire suppression in the U.S.

Best course of action is to have a perimeter around your house that does not provide fuel for fires
