Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night ...

Amigos! Mateo promises, Mateo delivers, just as sure as it never rains in La Mazanilla. Snap! It actually rained a few drops on June 20, but Mateo has delivered an open bar in these quiet times in town.
THERE IS ACCESS TO THE BAR! Just as Mateo prepares to leave the premises, the government has started construction on a bridge from the main plaza–er, “jardin”--to the current location of Crocodile Bar and Cabanas. From the street, it might not seem possible, but you don’t need an Olympic medal in obstacle courses to arrive safely. Just patience as it might take 10 seconds longer than before to arrive. There is no vehicle access, but if you can walk, you can make it here for a nice visit.
VENI, VIDI, VICI Here’s our giant countdown calendar for our final weeks at our current location. Fans of Latin already know “Quo vadis” translates into “giant countdown calendar” in at least one dead language.
Friday, June 21–Rick and Paul at 6 p.m. Final Mateo-free Friday. Bar service only from 12:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Special guest appearance by the soon-to-be sophomore in college, Carmen Maria Randolph Fajardo.
Saturday-June 22–Bar service only, 12:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
Sunday–June 23. Our cafe friends have left for greener pastures. Everyone who purchases beverages on June 21 is welcome to BYOB on June 23.
Monday, June 24-Thursday, June 27–Bar service only, 12:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Please note the lovely and talented Yeni will be on her own. If you show up and don’t see her, simply shout “Yeni! Aqui estoy! Tengo sed!” and she will come running.
Friday-June 28, Rick and Paul at 6 p.m. Last chance to enjoy Mateo’s red beans and rice from Louisiana. Come hungry.
Other key dates: Wednesday, July 3–Belen dining special No. 1 at 6 p.m.
Thursday, July 4–Mateo will celebrate his inner gringo and grill hamburgers while the USA still has a functioning democracy. Canadians and Mexicans welcome as we’re all Americans! Don’t forget, when the USA sent Mateo and his kids to Mexico, the USA was sending its best. Just like Mexico sent its best to the USA when Mateo’s late wife moved there in 1995.
Friday, July 5–Rick and Paul, 6 p.m. Final evening at the current location of Crocodile Bar! Mateo will announce the upcoming location of Crocodile Bar and Cabanas to everyone in attendance! Mateo will even pass out some free tequila shots on this final evening. If you’re reading this and will be in La Manzanilla on July 5, it would be nice to go out on a bang.
