Ambulance Update
Posted by JeanneC on September 4, 2024, 12:51 pm
The director of hospitals has finally come through with antivenom for scorpions for the ambulance. We just need to complete a brief training, which will be done by next week, and we will be able to help you when the Centro de Salud is closed. Additional training is ongoing in Autlan. Members of our team attend a class all day every Saturday. The class continues for 18 months. Thank you for your continued support of the ambulance. The team is proud and pleased to be able to serve the people of La Manzanilla.

Awesome. I got stung last year and Benadryl and ibuprofen worked but I’d like knowing the antivenom is available for more serious sting. P. S. It would be good to inform people who get stung by stingray that the initial best treatment is hot water 110 F will deactivate venom but go to clinic to have it cleaned of bacteria from the actual stinger and take antibiotics too. I know because I also had that experience in La Manzanilla.
