Swimmer's Ear Cure
Posted by Aries on October 21, 2024, 2:44 pm
I've had a blockage in my ear for a week from being tumbled in the ocean. I have tried hydrogen peroxice, rubbing alcohol and even antibiotic drops Dr. Martha put me on. Nothing has helped. Does anyone happen to know when Dr. Gabi is returning or if she's back in her office already? Thanks for any tips and info.

Let your ear get dry. Then with dropper bottle of coconut oil, fill your ear canal and use earplug or small rolled ball of toilet paper to keep oil from dripping out. Repeat as needed of about 48 hours. Dr Martha or you with bulb and spout of warm water should be able to flush out the softened wax IF wax is the problem and NOT an infection. I have to do this periodically myself. Good luck.
The practitioners in the clinic downtown probably have had previous experience and recommendations. I know when I got stung by stingray here they did the best medical procedures because of their experience and recommended the home remedy of soaking it in hot water the actually deactivates the venom. Try local practitioners.
Antibiotics and the sooner the better . See a doctor in Melaque . Don`t let it wait . 🤠

If you have an ear infection, and have had it for awhile, the usual antibiotics that get prescribed in Mexico are never effective. You need to have a steroid RX. I had an ear infection there a few years ago and after three weeks of antibiotics that did nothing I went and saw an ENT specialist at Euchari Hospital in Manzanillo. She cleaned my ear out, stuffed it with cotton gauze soaked in a steroid cream and voila, within 24 hours it was a thing of the past.
