Urgent Plea
Posted by LynnE on November 10, 2024, 7:37 pm
URGENT PLEA Can someone please foster a small, domesticated female cat until I can find a home for her? Many cats come to eat and drink at my house, but this one—who was either neglected or abandoned—wants to live on my patio in front of my only door. She is extremely affectionate and gets along with all the strays, but she terrorizes my own cats, who have been trapped inside for three weeks. “Trixie” eats kibble and drinks water outside; she just needs a place to feel safe. If you can help, please email me at lunalenamx@gmail.com or call 315 168 4609 via WhatsApp (English or Spanish) between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or after 7:30 p.m. I will attempt to attach a photo.

The rule of thumb with cats is that if you feed them they are never going to leave. I took in a stray but not until all family members agreed to keep her. While deciding I did not feed her or pet her…it was 9 years ago and she is doing great.

I came to the same conclusion this morning. I have to stop feeding and petting her. Right now she is crying at my window, and it is breaking my heart.

🥲. It’s gotta be tough. Good luck. Wish I could take her but two cats are not compatible with our life style.

I already know that I can't let this kitty be deprived of food and affection, so at least once a day, when my own cats are in another room, I will allow her into the kitchen to eat and drink to her heart's content, then put her outside again. This is not the best solution, but I can't watch her starve to death or leave her somewhere far away to fend for herself.
