New message board accounts

We’re getting lots of requests for new accounts now that the season is starting to ramp up.
Please remember when creating a new account, your username should represent your real name (first name and last initial, first initial and last name, maybe just your first name if it’s unique).
I have been replying back to people and changing their username when they request a nickname or just initials, but there are too many requests coming in now. Some of these are from Eastern Europe and turn out to be bots or spammers but I need to search each request to find where it originated.
If you request a new account and I haven’t approved it within a day, please try again with a different username. I am deleting any requests that don’t allow other people to know who is posting.
You can still browse the message board anonymously, but posts can only be made by logged in users.
