Several of us went to talk with the Delegado two days ago and the consensus was La Huerta has not and most likely at this late time not going to spray locally!
So it was talked about buying a sprayer that will be powered by one person to go around to those areas that capture the most water, deepe holes in the roads not yet graded and the arroyo!
Waiting for a price as this needs to happen sooner than later so more folks do not get sick! And it could also affect tourism as folks out of the area are concerned about not coming here because of all the cases!
So…Otra Vez will put in at least 10,000 pesos but the list price could be as much as 17,000-20,000…so a donation jar just for the sprayer will be at the bookstore on Friday!
I am also soliciting on the LM board where more locals read the Pueblo news….it takes us all to contribute! Gracias!

Just received a note about the problems the Municipality of Cihuatlan is having with lack of spraying for dengue, and hopefully it will be posted here as well shortly!
Seems pueblos need to take charge of this independently….so please donate!

In a perfect world yes, a machine could be shared, however, this is a small machine we are looking to buy that sprays smaller areas than the usual trucks that disperse the spray annually….and we have trouble here sharing a weed eater to maintain the grass! So I’ll step out on a limb and say…NO…not possible and it would be kept at the Delegado office so it would not disappear!!!
The cost is about $400-500 US…so not that much of an investment and if cared for properly will help us out in years to come!
If anyone has had any of the types of dengue…they know it is not pleasant!

ATTENTION TO ALL CITIZENS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CIHUATLAN: The municipality of Cihuatlan and its tourist areas have an increase in the cases of DENGUE as well as deficiencies in the companies that produce the pharmacological products for abatement or fumigation with vehicles in the streets. Today the cases are of a new more aggressive strain of dengue serotype DENV-3 and little production in the distribution of products to mitigate it, while more cases of local citizens and Mexican and foreign tourists become seriously ill with some recent deaths. Due to the lack of coordination and lack of signing of the health agreement between the State of Jalisco and the Federation, the medical supplies produced by the companies of Jalisco are not enough to protect the citizens against this series of problems. Cases in the state of Jalisco in epidemiological week # 46 (November 10-16, 2024) have increased to 17,170 cases and the exposed population urgently requests the elimination of breeding grounds for the transmitting mosquito in homes, colonies and neighborhoods of the municipality of Cihuatlan Jalisco, since the infestation reaches young people and adults (15-40 years old and children under 5 years old) which nominates the state as number one in cases of dengue in the entire nation. The highest number of cases (96%) corresponds to the DENV-3 serotype. FOR THE ABOVE, WE URGENTLY REQUEST SUPPORT FROM THE FUMIGATION BRIGADES AND MOBILE UNITS OF THE JALISCO HEALTH SECRETARY, as well as larval control and prevention. In the months of November and December, this DENV-3 serotype will still extend its life and danger of infestation and then will reduce its life cycle in the cold months.
