CALL TO ARTISTS
Come to Gallery 10 Jan 3 to enter your name for a spot on the wall. This is by lottery so please show up at 11am this Friday. Opening night for the exhibition is Jan 10. All artists welcome!

This is for all artists who wish to show their work at the Galeria 10. We are thinking of a number of ways to use the space. Some of us met last friday and hope that more of you will come this friday. We hope to do a show with as many of you that wish to participate. You will have your own wall and show what you wish. It will shorter than previous shows. You will be responsible for you own work. Artists will pay 100 pesos for expenses like drinks and snacks.
Please come to a meeting this Friday to share ideas...for smaller short shows. Classes. Single events. Hope to see you for the meeting this Friday at 11 am.

If you cannot make it to the event we have agreed to allow someone to be there on your behalf to choose for you. Also if you do not have much to display there will be other artists that you can share space with! Pls contact other artists in this group privately or at the meeting if that is something that you would like to do

Thanks, Shannon and Anne. What is the timeline for everything to be accomplished, in order to open the show just 7 days after the Jan. 3 meeting?
Several important decisions need to be made in a short time:
Dates for hanging or installing the artwork (Individual artists are responsible for designing their own space within the show) If someone comes to this meeting with their artwork ready to hang, could they put it up, as soon as they know which wall they have been given?
Will tools and hardware be available?
Price cards, extra information, (bios,etc.) put up alongside the artist's work. Does each artist do their own, or is there a volunteer who will do them all? Suggestions welcome re how to stick the extra information to the wall.(Blue tack? Double sided gel tape?. Where can you get it? Moe doesn't sell either at the papelería)
Posters, etc.? Or will all advertising be online?
Opening reception: details need to be decided.
What else needs to be decided? Let's keep bumping this message with more helpful information, so the Jan. 3 meeting will be well attended and productive.

Artists who are unable to be at the meeting Tomorrow but would like to be in next weeks show can have someone else put their name in for the wall space drawing. We're having fun with new ideas and hope you will join us..

NOTE: this show is for visual artists and makers of all kinds - Wall art, woodwork, fabric arts, mosaic, sculpture, cerámica - what am I forgetting? Everything can be accommodated in the beautiful space known as Galería 10. Upstairs from Ada's Bazaar (next to Martha's Farmacia) 11:00 tomorrow, Friday, to secure your space. Be there - or send a proxy to choose the best space for you.
