Setting the record straight

We have been accused (my husband, Mike Price, and myself, Myranda O’Byrne) by Angelica Virtud Ochoa Ruiz and Kendell McCumber, (in front of 3 witnesses and again in front of the Delegado and 2 witnesses), of stealing money from fundraising campaigns to pay for our flights to Mexico every year. THIS IS A BLATANT LIE and anyone who knows us would never believe it’s true. These are the facts:
• Over the past 15 years, the community of La Manzanilla plus several communities in Canada have raised over $50,000 CDN ($721,600 Pesos) to help Angelica and her family.
• During that time, Angelica and her children have upgraded from a rat-infested, dirt floor house (with chickens pooping on the kitchen table) to owning her own home.
• Angelica has now been married for 3 years and her husband works full time in Guadalajara to support her and her children.
• Angelica has become reliant on donations rather than taking responsibility and finding employment. Currently, she is using fundraised monies to host a huge fiesta (300 guests complete with full meal, liquor, rented chairs and tables as well as music entertainment.)
• If you wish to help families in need in La Manzanilla, talk to the teachers, the Delegado, the priests and the elders of the community and you will find many more deserving families who truly need financial assistance.
