THE NEW MOON was Jan. 27th

Oh silly me, I was looking at Weather Underground where they have all of the moon phases lined up with the dates and I was wrong, wrong, wrong it said FEB. 27TH is the NEXT full moon.
That is twice that I have been wrong

Well , I just looked up 4 different sites and they all say Jan. 29th. Are they all wrong?

On Saurday it will be next to Venus.
If you have a scope you can see that Venus is also a crescent.
