Curp

All of a sudden Amazon won't deliver to my house any more. They are now asking for my CURP or Tax number. I have permanent residence status, but I don't see a 18 digit CURP number on my card. Where would I go to get this number, immigration? Is anyone else being asked to do this by Amazon?

Be very careful Kathy, it could be a scam. Amazon is one of the most targeted companies, just like Netflix, DHL etc. I would contact Amazon and get it right from them…..or, hit on the email address where they sent you this info and see what comes up, whether it looks like a legit address. Sounds a bit like nonsense to me.

This is a new requirement of the Mexican government that started in January. If you order from a Mexican service there isn’t an issue but if you order from a US service to have goods shipped into Mexico, the govt wants to collect the taxes due.

In my experience, a CURP number was not issued to me in conjunction with my permanent resident card. A few year ago, I went to immigration in Melaque and was issued a CURP number.
Also, I don't believe a CURP number is the equivalent of a RFC. Tia Richardson would know all about this.

Thanks for the input, but I still am not able to find my CURP. I went to the government site, filled in the info,(name, age, BD)and they tell me I'm incorrect. I did place a new order with Amazon Mexico, that has no imports. Bingo, no problem, the products will be shipped in a few days. If I go to immigration, can they look up my CURP for me????

As I was reading this was curious…I got my CURP when I got my temporary resident card…and when I was eleiglbe for permanent it was printed on the front of that card! Nearly 15 years ago so things might have changed!
