Ambulance Update
Posted by JeanneC on May 9, 2025, 5:53 pm
Calls for the ambulance have begun to gradually decrease as high season ends, but we’re still on duty, helping people and saving lives. Here is a brief summary of service calls we’ve completed over the last couple of weeks:
Three scorpion stings requiring different amounts of antivenom. The team is trained to evaluate the patient and administer the correct dose. One case required three doses from us and seven more doses at the hospital.
A person suffering from convulsions after a fall
A call from a person suffering post-operative trauma
A person suffering from lack of oxygen, known as hipoxia
A person who fractured his arm swimming in rough waves
A person suffering from a possible miscarriage
As always, we are in need of donations to continue to train and pay the team members. If you would like to make a donation, Mayan at La Manzanilla Homes is our treasurer and she will gladly accept your donation and give you a receipt.
If you are not in town, you can do a bank transfer to our Intercam account. Just send me an email at jlam317@gmail.com, and I’ll forward the instructions to you.
We greatly appreciate the support of this wonderful community and are happy to serve you!

Since I posted this yesterday afternoon, we had two more calls for scorpion stings and a call for two young boys who were hurt on a motorcycle.
