Translated from yesterday’s facebook post:
PROGRESS REPORT ON WORKS TO IMPROVE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY
At the Ejido La Manzanilla Drinking Water Committee, we continue to work through concrete actions, technical studies, and results to strengthen the water supply for the benefit of the entire community.
1. Rehabilitation of the well provided by Professor Adolfo Rodríguez
As previously reported, this well has been out of use for 30 years; past attempts to work on it did not yield the expected results. Therefore, it was necessary to conduct an internal video inspection to determine the actual condition of the infrastructure.
Thanks to this study, the causes of the problem were identified, and corrective work—specifically desilting and well-casing brushing—is currently underway. Once completed, a new flow test will be performed to determine the well's actual capacity and, based on those results, to select the most suitable equipment and pumping system.
2. Progress on the new well project for La Manzanilla
It is important to clarify that this well is not the same one requested nearly two years ago by the Ejido La Manzanilla from the Municipal Government.
The initiative was led by the Ejido Commission (*Comisariado Ejidal*), comprising:
President: Leopoldo Loza
Treasurer: Gustavo Gaviño
Secretary: Armando Figueroa Ambriz
President of the Oversight Council: Tomás Murillo
In coordination with the Drinking Water Committee:
President: Oswaldo Zuazo
Treasurer: Fausto Verde
Secretary: Prof. Rubén Figueroa
The request was submitted to Mayor Luis Arias and Councilwoman Alejandra Morfín Vega as part of a commitment made to the community.
After nearly two years of coordination and planning, we are very close to beginning the drilling of the new well—a project that will significantly strengthen the drinking water supply for La Manzanilla.
We will continue to provide transparent updates on the progress of both projects.
Our commitment is to work based on information, technical studies, and results, because our community's water supply deserves real solutions, not rumors or speculation.
