Did anyone else rush out last night with shampoo and soap in hand to give themselves a good scrub? I did with gratitude after a relentless build up of heat since the last short lived rain ten days ago, the continuing high level of salt in the tap water affecting skin and hair, let alone the slow witnessing of plants turning yellow, brown, some dying. It makes one ponder about the word ‘paradise’ that gets bandied around so much in the most banal manner- there is no such thing as a ‘place’ being paradise, it’s rather a state of being. Last night standing under a rain spout and being cleansed by sweet, soft water, that was ‘paradise’!
