ISO: KIDS’ BOOKS IN SPANISH

Holá! In Search Of: 📚📖📚 Kids’ books IN SPANISH:
Easy Readers, especially “High Interest/Low Vocabulary”
In other words, if possible and available, books that are fun, smart, but easy to read, with lots of illustrations, and not too many words per page. Most especially for very beginning readers (kindergarten/grade 1 level), but any grade level of high interest low vocab books would be fabulous.
Unless things have changed over the summer, student library books in the Primaria were almost nonexistent… and what was there was drop dead boring and extremely wordy.
I’m hoping to spend some time in the Primaria this season doing reading support with the kids. But we need books! And was hoping that people who come down from places in USA and anywhere where Spanish is spoken might have access to public and school library systems that donate old books?
Purchasing new books is very expensive and, as you might have guessed, we have NO budget! But if you stumble upon a good one, and felt inclined, even one book would be deeply appreciated.

Channie, have you talked with Sue O'Riley? I remember when I was helping her and other volunteers to put that little library together, there were lots of books for kids in both English and Spanish. At one time, we used to go over to the school and read to the students.
